Since I'm looking at revising the tradedress I have been using (and also sorely need to revise the website), I decided to also revise the Arcana Creations logo. The fruits of my labors today:
I'm happy with it -- I hope other people like it as well.

I like it!
ReplyDeleteHow'd you pick the symbols in the outer ring? Any significance to the Moon/bowl appearing twice? (Inner and outer rings?)
The symbols in the outer ring are the '7 traditional' planetary bodies as recognized in older mythological and philosophical sources. They represent the Sun, Venus, Mercury, moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars.
ReplyDeleteAs to why the moon appears 'twice'... well, simply the crescent moon was always part of the original logo to it made a certain amount of sense to keep it. I could have had a bit of fun and oriented the moon differently along the outer ring to represent different phases but decided to leave it as-is for now. Besides, I thought that the moon in the outer ring presented in a different orientation looked a bit weird.
The motto for Arcana Creations has been 'bringing form to imagination' and, simply put moon seems to resound well enough with the notion of dreams. The seven 'planets' also have a link with 'magic' in folklore which also goes with the whole theme and keeps with the name 'Arcana Creations'.
There's 'probably' more to it but that might be better for a much more in depth topic for another blog post. ;)
I'm glad you'll like it though!
